Game-OST recently did an interview of yours truly, titled “Interview with Petri Alanko – Alan Wake soundtrack composer!” in which I actually managed to sound even more talkative than I really am.
It was a lot fun to dig deep into questions and some of them really made me think the whole process of composing as a process. I got the picture composers are usually a bit shy of their motives, but in my point of view, it’s better to share your mental tools than to keep them to yourself. It’s not away from me, so to speak. Also, once you let go of something, you give room for something entirely new.
The other interviews on that site are also quite interesting read, just wait for a next lazy rainy afternoon.
